By habee

Wake Forest, NC is a vibrant community of over 27,000 residents – but it’s growing! In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing towns in America. People are drawn to the area because of its natural beauty, its charm, the opportunities it provides, and its friendly atmosphere.

WakeForest has some wonderful schools, including numerous preschools. According to local media surveys, the following are the best preschools in Wake Forest, in descending order.

#1 – Wake Forest Montessori

Wake Forest Montessori provides a unique learning opportunity for all its students. Each child is allowed to proceed at his own pace for his intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. At WakeForest, the pre-K/kindergarten class includes children ages three to six years. This allows younger children to learn by modeling the older ones.

Teachers at this school have a Bachelor’s Degree, a Montessori teacher diploma, and CPR and First Aid training from the Red Cross. Each child is treated as a unique individual, and communication with parents is a vital part of the school’s success.

Pre-K classes are from 8:30 am until 12:15 pm. Students can attend part time, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Healthy organic snacks are provided.

#2 – PrimroseSchool of Wake Forest

Primrose is a five star accredited school. Its pre-K program uses the Balanced Learning Preschool curriculum and focuses on the fundamentals of learning that include letter recognition, early reading skills, number recognition, math concepts, gross and fine motor skills, critical thinking, and technology-guided learning. Parents are kept involved via weekly newsletters.

Primrose also offers a private pre-K that provides an optimum learning environment to ensure that children are ready to attend elementary school. These classes feature a low student-to-teacher ratio, core academic skills, respect for others, and character development.

The school’s director has a Master’s in Child Development, and the curriculum coordinator has a degree in Child Psychology.

#3 – Wake ForestBaptist Church

Wake Forest Baptist Church offers W.E.E. Care preschool services, which stands for Weekday Early Education. Students are taught social skills and individual independence in a loving Christian environment. A separate evening music ministry is also provided for children three and up, providing basic musical skills.

Classes meet from 9:00 am to noon, five days a week, September through May. Tuition scholarships are available on a limited basis.

#4 (tie) – Montessori Children’s House

This school was established in 1986. Students are taught in a flexible, interactive environment to discover and enhance skills in language, math, everyday living, science, music, art, culture, and sensorial areas. With the Montessori approach at Children’s House, students move freely about and learn from adults and each other at their own individual pace.

The founder/directress of Children’s House received her training through the American Montessori Association and has been involved with Montessori instruction since 1975.

The school encourages parents interested in the learning process used at Children’s House to make an appointment to observe the daily activities.

#4 (tie) – RisingStarChristianAcademy

This school was formerly known as TLB Family CCC; it has a new facility, but the owners haven’t changed. The small number of children in each classroom ensures that each student will receive individual attention, and the school’s open-door policy makes parents feel welcome.

An interesting component of Rising Star is the classroom cameras. Parents can view their children throughout the day from any computer.

The preschool program is for ages 3-4, and a private school for K-12 is also provided. All classes are taught with Christian principles in mind, in a warm and caring environment
