Girls' Easter Dresses - Discount Easter Dresses

I used to hate Easter dresses. Allow me to explain. When I was a kid, Easter was a really big deal for my family. We went to church just about every Sunday, but Easter Sunday was special. Mom would spend weeks agonizing over what we would wear. Since Easter is always in the early part of spring, the holiday would signal a shopping frenzy for my mom, my aunt, and my older cousin. It was when they would purchase most of their spring and summer wardrobes.
I was an only daughter, so I caught the brunt of all the “dressing up.” And I wanted no part of it! I was a real tomboy, and I hated shopping and trying on dresses. I much preferred my cowboy suits and my Daniel Boone outfit to frills and ruffles, and my cowboy hat or my coonskin cap to an Easter bonnet.
The three divas would always choose a Saturday for their shopping adventures, and they’d drag me along – kicking and screaming. I’d have to wait and wait for them to try on numerous Easter dresses and hats, and then they’d model them for each other, “ooing and ahing” over each. Even worse was when it was my turn. I’d always pretend to love the first dress they put on me, just to shorten the torture. Unfortunately, this strategy didn’t work. They’d always find numerous outfits for me to model for them. This was definitely the worst part of Easter.
I enjoyed the other things about Easter, and now that I’m an adult, I understand Mom’s obsession. I have three beautiful granddaughters, and I thoroughly enjoy dressing them up in the latest fashions. I’m making up for all those years that I played with horses and cap guns instead of with Barbies and baby dolls. Lucky for me, I have it easier than Mom did. My granddaughters are little divas and love getting new clothes, especially new dresses.
It's funny how your perspective changes over the years. Now that I have grandkids, I thoroughly enjoy shopping for clothes, including the annual hunt for Easter dresses. Of course, I buy for my five grandsons, too, but I'll admit that shopping for little girls is a heck of a lot more fun! Also, the girls are much more willing to participate in our shopping adventures, and they're actually like trying on and wearing Easter dresses and just about any itmes of clothing and accessories.

I'm so glad I still have one who likes to dress up. My teen, well, do they make black Easter dresses that go with hoodies and knee-hi Converse dresses? Come to think of it, she does have a black tu-tu she wears with jeans...
I'm thankful for even the youngest to not have to endure the cloves and those blasted ankle socks my mother ceaselessly told me to pull up. Elastic had not been perfected way back then! But I did like the little purses!
That's the fun of having little girlies - Easter dresses - dresses in general! I never played much with dolls when I was a kid and I think my Katie reaped the benefits. Bob used to ask every day when he came home from work where the heck we were going with our little baby girl all dressed up!

This just made me want to have a daughter right now!! These dress are sooooo adorable! :) BTW....I was only child and an only grandchild for like nine years so I also felt the parental and grandparent obsession of playing dress up with me! lol I wonder if that's why I live in yoga pants and other lounge wear all day now? haha

I loved those Easter dresses. We do not dress up for Easter like in the old days....oh, how I hated using that term. I enjoyed dressing my granddaughter when she was small. I do a lot of window shopping now. Enjoy it!
This one brings back memories! We'd shop for weeks, getting a new outfit for church for Easter and a new casul outfit to wear afterwards. My daughter is 15 now, and I think about how when she was small she would have these frilly dresses with the big skirt and ruffles and lace, and hat and purse to match! I miss those days; thanks for sharing, great post!

I loved buying pretty little dresses for my daughter. At Easter I always bought her Easter bonnets. She hated them. She would wait until we were going down a highway, then shoot them out the window while we were moving. Bah.

haha! what a funny image! I used to love hats. I would buy 40s hats at the antique clothes store and I had quite a few of them in the day. I'm such a girl that way, I loved dressing up.

neat shared thing. :) I liked big summer hats with scarfs around them and a bow and a trail, little close hats (pilbox?) with netting over the front like jackie o, just all kinds of hats.
Cool! I rarely go anywhere to wear hats now, though - except for the beach.
lol, me neither, nor is there a vintage store in my little town as there was in larger cities I used to live in.
