Greenmountain coffee
If you’re serious about your joe, you’ve most likely heard of Green Mountain coffee. Green Mountain coffee is one of the most popular coffees on the market today. The company has had amazing success in a relatively short period of time, compared to many other businesses.
History of GreenMountain coffee
Green Mountain coffee had a humble beginning. It started out in a small restaurant in Waitsfield, Vermont, meant for local customers. It’s hard to keep a good thing a secret, so it didn’t take long for the word to spread across the state, then the nation, then much of the world.
Along with this success came a world of new types of coffee and flavored coffee, available to you with just the click of a mouse.
Green Mountain coffee today
Because of its rousing success, Green Mountain coffee has expanded its operations. Today, the chief Green Mountain coffee processing center is located in Waterbury, Vermont. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters also has several other offices and distribution centers in order to meet the demand for the product.
Green Mountain coffees are often given as gifts to coffee lovers, especially in attractive gift baskets. This might be something you want to consider for the gourmet-coffee drinkers on you gift list.
Where and how is Green Mountain coffee produced?
Green mountain coffee is grown mostly in Mexico, Hawaii, Central and South America, Africa, and Indonesia, where growing conditions are just right for producing mild, delicious beans. The process is very “green,” so Green Mountain coffee is aptly named. The term mountain green coffee would also be apropos.
Green Mountain Coffee takes several steps to ensure that the environments where their beans are grown are safe. Since the company depends on the health of the land, it’s in their best interest to maintain and nurture it.
Green Mountain Coffee was one of the first roasters to include Fair Trade coffees in their line of products. The company also helps support several charities, and due to their growing practices, they’re doing their part in slowing global warming.
What is Fair Trade certified coffee?
Many areas in which coffee beans are grown are very poor. The Fair Trade agreement guarantees these growers a minimum price for their beans. You’re probably aware that the coffee market prices fluctuate. With Fair Trade, however, growers will not receive less than $1.55 a pound for organic coffee or $1.35 per pound of regular coffee. This price exceeds production costs, so growers and workers are guaranteed a profit.
Members of Fair Trade also agree to promote diversity in agriculture, conservation, and responsible land management. Hazardous waste is disposed of responsibly, and natural habitats for birds and wildlife are provided and maintained.
Descriptions of Green Mountain coffees
Green Mountain Coffee categorizes its coffees into three regional types: the Americas, Indonesia, and Africa. Each area of origin has different soils and different climates, so coffee beans grown in a specific area will have a different taste, consistency, and aroma from those produced in another region.
Coffee beans grown in the Americas, for example, are generally smooth, with a good mixture of acidity and sweetness. Green Mountain coffees made from these beans also have a wonderful aroma. Notes of fruits are usually part of the flavor.
GreenMountain coffee made from beans grown in Indonesia typically has a strong yet smooth flavor. These coffees are usually heavy, with a sweet, earthy taste and a tantalizing smell. Undertones of spice are often discernible.
African coffee beans have a taste of their own. Green Mountain coffees produced from these beans often have hints of citrus, chocolate, or berries, with a medium body.
Green Mountain K cups
Green Mountain Coffee K cups are extremely popular – both in homes and in offices. K cup coffees are a great way to sample several different flavors without committing to one. What are Green Mountain K cups? K cup coffees are small capsules of coffee – enough for one six-ounce cup of brew.
Green Mountain K cup coffee is great when you want to make just a single cup of coffee quickly, with no measuring and no mess. K cup coffees are available in a wide range of flavors. You can purchase a single flavor or variety packs of K cup coffees in several different flavors. K cup coffees are also the perfect type of office coffee, when everyone prefers a different flavor or roast.
Coffee K cups are available in blends, caramel, blueberry, French vanilla, hazelnut, Southern pecan, cinnamon roll, mocha nut fudge, chocolate donut, peach, and other great flavors. Of course, the traditional coffees are also available as K cup coffees. Regular and decaffeinated GreenMountain coffees are available as K cup coffees.
